Wayne R. Sergent

Wayne R. Sergent Jr., 58, of Westville passed away at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday April 10, 2012 at his home. He was born on September 5, 1953 in Danville, IL the son of Wayne R. Sr. and Beverly A. (Williams) Sergent. Survivors include his son Justin (Nikki Wright) Sergent of Westville, his daughter, Tammy Jean Wilson of Danville, his father Wayne R. Sergent Sr. of Sidell, his step-dad Donald "Jiggs" Gay of Westville, his brothers, Doug Brumfield of Oakwood, Dan Brumfield of Crawfordsville, IN, John Brumfield of Danville, and Chuck Sergent of Sidell; his sisters, Debbie A. Brumfield of Danville, Debie S. Sergent of Arizona, and Julee (Tim) Fairchild of Westville; his five grandchildren and one on the way; his good friends Sally and Ed Morrison of Westville. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Gay, a sister, Donna Gay, and a brother, Kevin Gay. Wayne coached Westville Little League baseball for many years. He was a great cook. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. He loved listening to music. Most of all Wayne enjoyed having a good time with his friends. A celebration of Wayne's life will be held at 1 p.m. Monday April 16, 2012 at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel. Pastor Jay Sorrell will officiate. He will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Vermilion County Animal Shelter.
