Wayne Leon Bracken, 75, of Danville passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born on September 27, 1946, the son of Guy and Rovigne (Holland) Bracken. In 1966 Wayne married Marilyn Benting and they have spent 55 wonderful years together, she survives.

Also surviving are children, Robin Royer, Guy Bracken; grandchildren, Dylan (Ana) Royer, Jenna Royer; sisters, Joyce Williams, Guyann (Patrick) Bracken-Fay and many nieces and nephews. Wayne is also survived by his beloved dog, Beau Dandie and cat, Tigger.

Wayne is proceeded in death by his parents, Guy and Rovigne; father and mother-in-law, Ben and Tena Benting, and brother, Billy Gib Bracken.

Wayne graduated from Covington High School before working at Hyster-Yale where he retired after over 40 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting him.

A Celebration of Waynes life will be held at 11:30am on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Bethel Lutheran Church 901 W Fairchild St, Danville, IL 61832 with Pastor Ed Stone officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:30am to 11:30am at the church. Entombment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. The family has entrusted Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 to handle funeral arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Waynes name to the Bethel Lutheran Church in Danville, IL.
