Wayne Gordon

Mahomet-Wayne "Doc" Gordon of Mahomet passed away on Dec. 12, 2017 at Champaign County Nursing Home in Urbana, IL. He was born on June 20, 1938 in Moweaqua, IL. the son of Fred and Ruth Gordon. Wayne is survived by his wife of 59 years Sandy, children; Bryan Gordon and Kim (John) Bingham, siblings; John (Norma), Jack (Mary), and Doris , grandchildren; Matt (Megan) Gordon, Andrew (Emily) Gordon, James and Makena Bingham, great-grandchildren; Max, Tessa and Finn. Wayne was an avid golfer, he loved rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Bears he also enjoyed working in his yard. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Fred, Russell, Bob, Virginia, Marilyn, June, and Genevive. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Wayne's family for the purchase of his memorial marker. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday December 16th, 2017 at 11am at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 710 N. Neil St. Champaign, IL. 61820. Visitation will be held 1hour prior from 10-11am. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery in Champaign, IL.
