Wayne D. Wait

Wayne D. Wait, 79, of Danville, passed away at 8:30 a.m., Thursday, July 7, 2005 at Veterans Administration Illiana Health Care System, Danville. He was born March 17, 1926 in Danville, Illinois, the son of Augustus and Alice Eva (Davis) Wait. He married Esta Elouise Keller on August 2, 1947 in Henderson, Kentucky. Wayne is survived by: his wife of over 57 years, Esta Elouise Wait of Danville; one son- Alan D. (Debbie) Wait of Danville; one daughter- Nancy I. (Rick) Hendrickson of Nixa, Missouri; five grandchildren- Troy L. (Patricia) Warnick, Jason A. (Heidi Jo) Warnick, Terry (Nikki) Hendrickson, Heather A. Ottarski and Holly M. Rodman; six great-grandchildren; and one sister " Irene L. (Winford) Bland of Perrysville, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a 1944 graduate of Perrysville High School in Perrysville, IN, and a member of Christian Union Church in Perrysville. Wayne served during WWII in the US Navy from 1944-1946. He worked for Tee-Pak in Danville for 9 years, and then worked for Lauhoff Grain Company until his retirement in 1987. He was also a lifelong farmer in the Perrysville area. He was a member and past master of Unity Lodge #344 F & A M of Perrysville; Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute; Zorah Shrine of Terre Haute; Eastern Star, Perrysville Chapter OES 302; American Motorcyclist Association and the American Legion #350, Perrysville. He enjoyed camping, RVing, riding his motorcycle, and playing the harmonica. He was also an airplane pilot and loved to fly.
