Wayne Crawford

Wayne Crawford, 64 of New Mexico, formerly of Oakwood, IL, passed away on March 12, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on October 19, 1946, in Danville, the son of Kenneth and Mary Crawford. Both are deceased. Wayne was married to Barbara Feldman, which from this union are two children, John Crawford of El Paso, TX, and Kimberly (Mark) McCormick of Bloomington, IL. Also surviving Wayne, are his three grandchildren, Damon, Autumn, and Alyssa McCormick. Wayne furthered his education and taught English at Danville High School, for several years, before going to Western University, located in Macomb, IL, as an English Professor. Wayne had a talent for writing poems, in which many have been published. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and will be missed by all that knew him. Wayne donated his body to science and a Celebration of his Life will take place, along with Barbara Crawfords, beginning at 12:00pm on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Oakwood United Methodist Church located at 106 E. Collett Street in Oakwood with Pastor Kim Dancey officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00am until time of service on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that all donations be made in Waynes name to the Community Cancer Center located in Normal, IL.
