Cayuga, Ind -- Waunetta Lucille White Pearson, 94, a resident of Cayuga, Ind for 61 years passed away on August 23, 2006 at the Waters of Covington, where she had been a resident since 1997. She was born March 6, 1912 in Onarga, Illinois to the late Robert A. and Lenora Lillian Guthrie White. Waunetta and Doc Wallace Pearson were married on October 14, 1936 in Bryan, Ohio. He preceded her in death on March 19, 1983. Others preceding her are an infant son, David Lee Pearson, a granddaughter, Leza Renae Booth, a son-in-law, Clifford E. Dowers, her four sisters and their husbands, three nieces and nephews. Surviving are two daughters, Nora L.Dowers of Cayuga and Mary Sue Bennett of Danville, Ill; two grandsons, Chris (Tammy) Dowers of Hillsdale, Ind, Scott (Angel) Dowers, of Covington, Ind; two granddaughters, Brigit (John) Steinbrenner of Hillsdale, Ind, Kriston (Chris) Ebert of Janesville, Wisconsin; ten great grandchildren, Charles, Patrick and Erik Weaver, Dannieal, Darren and Haley Miller, McKenzie and Hayden Ebert, Kaci and Madison Dowers and four great-great grandchildren. Waunetta was a 50 year member of the Cayuga American Legion Auxiliary Post 263. She worked for a paper cup factory in Cayuga for several years and retired from General Electric in Danville, Ill at the age of 62. She attended the Cayuga Presbyterian Church. Mom never met a stranger and enjoyed volunteering and helping people of all ages. Her hobbies were gardening, raising flowers, sewing and quilting. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Most of all she loved life! Services: 1 PM EDT, Saturday, August 26, 2006 at DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home, Cayuga,Ind Officiating: Rev. Grover Williams Burial: Thomas Cemetery, Newport, Ind Visitation: 11 AM till the hour of service, Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial services by the Cayuga American Legion Auxiliary Post 263 prior to the service. Contributions can be made in her name to the Cayuga American Legion Auxiliary Post 263.
