Wanita Warner

Wanita M. Warner, 88 of Danville, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Provena USMC in Danville. She was born on June 1, 1923, in Danville, the daughter of Arthur and Ruth (Stewart) Davidson. Both are deceased. She married her husband, Charles Lampin in November of 1945, until his untimely passing in 1965. On April 21, 1967, Wanita later married Leland Ray Warner, until his passing in 1999. Survivors include her daughter; Trina Hyatt of Danville, two granddaughters; Amber and Jessica Hyatt, and one great-granddaughter; Lezlie Miller. In addition to her parents, and her two husbands, her son, Michael lampin preceded Wanita in death. She was employed with the Danville VA Illiana Health Care Systems, retiring after 21 years of in food service. She also had worked for Davidsons family owned business, and CN&EI Railroad. She was a proud member of TOPS, and enjoyed visiting the YMCA with her friends. Wanita also enjoyed bird-watching, traveling, fishing, dancing, boating, and never missed a Lawrence Welk show. She cherished her time she had with her grandchildren, and great-granddaughter. She had a very kind heart and showed her loved to everyone, including her dogs. She will be missed by all that knew her. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Wanita Warner will begin at 3:00pm on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Pastor Connie Moody has been asked to officiate. No viewing will take place before the service. Burial will be at Springhill Cemetery at a later date. Per her wishes, Wanita will be cremated at Sunsets on-site crematory under the immediate direction of Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home.
