Waneta Ashby

Waneta E. Ashby, 94, of Westville passed away at 1:07 am Sunday, March 28, 2004 at Provena USMC Logan Campus in Danville. Waneta was born October 19, 1909 in New Market, IN, the daughter of the late Jacob and Martha (Ball) Staggs. She married Everett Ashby on October 19, 1927 in Danville. He preceded her in death on February 20, 1975. Survivors include: 1 son, Chuck Ashby of Danville; 1 daughter, Jeannine Rife of Danville; 14 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren and 21 great great grandchildren. One daughter, Evelyn Hafner and two brothers preceded her in death. Waneta was a 1926 graduate of Danville High School and was a homemaker. Waneta was a member of New Life Christian Center in Danville. Her interests included her grandchildren, family gatherings, crocheting, gardening, and playing the piano.
