Wanda R. Morris

Cayuga, Ind. - Wanda R. Morris, 90, of Cayuga, passed away at 4:20 a.m. EDT Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at her residence.

She was born November 13, 1927 in Mecca, Indiana the daughter of the late Wayne and Edyth Moore Mankin. She first married Donald Neild. She later married Anthony "Tony" Morris on February 20, 1971 in Danville, Illinois. He preceded her in death on September 26, 2005.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna Holmes of Covington, Indiana; her son, Ronald Neild of Cayuga, Indiana; ten grandchildren: Tracey, Chad, Renee, Amy, Raschelle, Crystal, Amanda, Andrew, Adrienne and Alison; ten great grandchildren; her sister, Alayne (Harold) Roderick of Clinton, Indiana, and two brothers: Larry Mankin of St. Petersburg, Florida and Garry (Sharon) Mankin, Indiana.

Wanda was preceded in death by her son, Robert Neild; one sister and two brothers.

Wanda was a nurses aide at the former St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Illinois, and Vermillion County Nursing Home south of Cayuga, Indiana. She also formerly worked at R.C.A. in Indianapolis, Indiana. Her memberships included the St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Georgetown, Illinois; Cayuga American Legion Auxiliary Unit 263 and the D.A.V. of America. Wanda was a 1945 graduate of Mecca High School. She enjoyed working in her yard and tending her flowers.

Funeral Services: Noon EDT Friday, September 14, 2018 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana: Officiating: Rev. Marc Starhm; Visitation: 10 a.m. EDT until time of services on Friday, September 14, 2018. Cremation will be accorded following services. Contributions may be made to the Cayuga American Legion Auxiliary, 904 West Ferry Street, Cayuga, Indiana 47928.
