Wanda Darlene Hamm

Wanda Darlene Hamm, age 67, of Danville, passed away Friday, April 24, 2015 at 5:23 PM at Danville Care Nursing Home in Danville. She was born May 17, 1947 in Danville, the daughter of Vendel J. and Florence L. (Willoughby) Puskac. Wanda married Henry Arthur Hamm, Jr. on August 14, 1965 in Danville. He preceded her in death on March 12, 1990. Wanda is survived by her children, Sheila Hamm of Fairmount and Henry A. (Sidney Furney) Hamm III of Phoenix, AZ; one brother, Vendel J. Puskac of Danville; and many other friends and caretakers who loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Henry, and one sister, Shirley Barbetta. Wanda worked at the Commercial News for 12 years as a manager in the mail room. She also worked at Sears as an automotive mechanic and at ATI in Danville. Wanda enjoyed reading and crocheting. She spent many of hours with her family gardening and canning in their kitchen. Wanda also liked to play games on the computer and with her friends through Facebook. Per her wishes Wanda will be cremated and a Celebration of her life will be held Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 3:30 PM. Drew Mentzer will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Her cremated remains will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in her name to CRIS Senior services for elderly abuse prevention or Your Family Resource Center (YWCA) in Danville.
