Walter 'Tommy' Burress

GEORGETOWN - Walter Tommy Burress, 79, passed away at 3:17pm, Monday, January 8th, 2007, at his home. He was born on January 19th, 1927, in Elk Horn, Kentucky, the son of Lloyd C. and Molly (Seaburn) Burress. He was united in marriage to Frances Gabehart in Camelsville, Kentucky, on April 5th, 1947. She will miss him dearly. Others who will miss him include: his children, Wes Burress of Danville, Linda (Ron) Noggle of Georgetown, & Brenda (Zeke) Yoho of Georgetown; his grandchildren, Michael (Angel) Burress of Georgetown, James (Jennifer) Burress of Indianapolis, IN, Sara Yoho of Georgetown, Kristi (Beau) Ford of Springfield, IL, Dr. Chad (Jennifer) Noggle of Carmel, IN, Josh Burress of Danville, & Jesse Techtow of Danville; his great grandchildren, Max Burress, Kaitlyn Burress, Lauren Burress, & Madison Techtow; his brothers, Beau (Edna Ruth) Burress, Bobby (Dorothy) Burress, & Dick (Vertice) Burress, all of Kentucky; his sisters, Edna Herron, Loretta (Thomas) Gaddis, Shirley (Richard) Chelf, & Christine Wise, all of Kentucky; and many extended family & friends. His parents, his sister; Lilly Woodrum, and a granddaughter preceded Walter in death. Walter retired from General Motors Tilton Foundry after 33 years. He took pleasure in gardening and fishing in his spare time. He enjoyed talking and getting to know people. He loved spending time with his family and adored his grandchildren. A celebration of Walters life will be held at 10:30am, Friday, January 12th, 2007, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home in Georgetown. Reverend James Blue will officiate. Visitation is scheduled for 4pm-7pm on Thursday, January 11th, 2007, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Walters name may be given to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Georgetown.
