Vivian Mae Voyles, 91, of Chrisman, formerly of Ridge Farm, passed away at 7:38pm, Monday, October 20, 2014, at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living, Chrisman. She was born on April 30, 1923, in Humrick, IL, the daughter of Moses A. and Dora M. {Loveall} Collom, both deceased. She was united in marriage to Russell G. Voyles on July 1, 1941, in Hannibal, MO, until his passing on August 10, 2008. She will be missed by: Robert Dale Bob (Susie Malkus) Voyles of Fairmount; her sisters, Inez Lyday of Olivet, Ireta Bell of Westville, & Shirley Razmus of Georgetown; her son-in-law- Wayne (Sandy) Scarlett of Indianola; her daughter-in-law, Sarah Jo (Jerry) Voyles Nelk of Ridge Farm; her 11 grandchildren; her many great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by: her son, Eugene Gene Voyles; her daughter, Carolyn Mae Scarlett; her grandson, Robert Voyles Jr.; her granddaughter, Lisa Grupe; her sisters, Ruth Woods & Lois McNulty; and her brothers, Dale, Vernard, & Vernon Collom. Vivian worked at the Newport Ammunitions Plant as a cook. She retired from General Electric in Danville after 25 years of service. She was a member of the Ridge Farm Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, & Shopping. She was a devoted Mother & Grandmother and cherished the time she spent with her family, especially with her grandkids. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A celebration of Vivians life will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, October 25, 2014, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held 5pm-7pm, Friday, October 24, 2014, at the funeral home, as well as, one hour prior to her service on Saturday. She will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery, Ridge Farm. Memorial donations may be given in her name to Pleasant Meadows Senior Living Activities Department in Chrisman.
