Vitus Fonda Wasson Ray, Miller, 71, of Danville, IL, passed this life Saturday August 23, 2014 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. Vitus, or “Vi” was born on January 21, 1943 in Danville, IL to James and Ethel (Howe) Wasson. Vitus married Donald D. Ray and later married Fred Miller; both preceded her in death. She attended school in Danville, IL and worked at the 610 Tap for numerous years. Vitus worked at Lincoln Lanes Bowling Alley for 16 years. She also worked for District 118 as a cook. She was Miss VFW years ago. She enjoyed playing Bingo, loved being with the kids and grandkids and participating in Bible Study at her church. Also preceding her in death were her parents; son, Donald Ray; brother, Connie Wasson; brother Bob; sister Betty, and one granddaughter. She will be deeply missed by a brother, Jimmy (Betty) Wasson of Danville, IL; 5 children, Tina Halls Syfert, Gary Ray, Shirley (Robert) White Kirkhart, Harold Miller, Robert (Sabrina) Miller), all of Danville, IL; 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life graveside service for Vitus will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Oakwood. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville. Burial will take place at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
