Virginia 'Zeke' Miller

Virginia Zeke (Zielinski) Miller, 79, of Paris, formerly of Georgetown, passed away at 7:23am, Wednesday, July 16th, 2008, at her daughters home in Ridge Farm. She was born to Lee and Mary (Sumila) Zielinski in Danville, IL, on November 2nd, 1928. She was united in marriage to Marvin R. Miller on September 13th, 1969, in Charleston, IL. He preceded her in death on December 2nd, 2006. Survivors include: her children, Jane (Russ) Guthrie of Indianola & Donna (Mike) Stephenson of Ridge Farm; her step children, M. Ray Jr. (Debbie) Miller of Decatur, Michael (Wanda) Miller of Manassas, VA, Theresa (Curt) Smith of Danville, & Mark A. Miller of Paris, IL; her twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; her siblings, Robert (Jean) Zielinski of Kerrville, TX, Daniel (Diane) Zielinski of Westville, IN, Phyllis Baszis of Danville, IL, & Marilee Rapp of Normal, IL; her many beloved nieces & nephews; and her special life-long friend, Sallie Black of Georgetown. Her parents preceded her in death. Virginia served as city clerk for the City of Georgetown for several years. She retired from Opportunities Enterprises of Porter County, IN, in 1991. She was a member of the St. Marys Catholic Church in Paris, IL. She was an avid Chicago Bears & White Sox fan. She enjoyed playing bridge and having coffee with the Girls in Paris. Virginia & Marvin were well known for hosting many Fourth of July parties and Labor Day Fish Fries at their lakeside home in Paris which were enjoyed by all. Most of all, Virginia loved spending time with her family and friends. A celebration of Virginias life will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, July 19th, 2008, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown. Father David Zimmerman will officiate. Visitation will be held 4pm to 8pm, Friday, July 18th, 2008, at the funeral home with a rosary at 3:30pm. She will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery, Indianola, IL. Memorial donations may be given in her name to: The First Church of Christ of Georgetown or the American Cancer Society.
