Virginia (Ginger) Ruth Yanko, 79, of Danville, IL passed away Sunday, November 26, 2006 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Virginia was born on November 20, 1927 in South Bend, IN the daughter of Albert H. and Londy (Clark) Brownsing. She married Emery Alex Yanko on December 29, 1945 in South Bend, IN at Our Lady of Hungary. She is survived by: her husband, Emery, married almost 61 years: three sons, Gregory (Abbe) Yanko of Harker Heights, TX, James (Kathy) Yanko of Centerville, OH, and Patrick Yanko of Raleigh-Durham, NC; five daughters; Cheri (Jerry) Elliott of Danville, IL, Vicki Jones of Muskego, WI, Karen Yanko of Colorado Springs, CO, Kathy (Steve) Boddy of Woodland Park, CO, Michelle ??Shay?? Anspach of Paxton, IL; one brother Charles (Frances) Riley of Indianapolis, IN and two sisters, Deloris Stevens of Castleberry, FL, and Mary Brownsing of Danville, IL. She is also survived by twenty grandchildren: Tami, Bryan, Casey, Marcie, Lacey, Thor, Somer, Ashlynn, Heath, Kristin, Kyle, Kate, Joshua, Justine, Dionte, Shannon, Kevin, Ashton, Kegan, and Colten, and eleven great-grandchildren, two nieces, and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents and one nephew. Virginia lived in the Danville area most of her life spending her time raising her family of eight children. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She loved to spend time with her family, especially on holidays, her favorite times of the year. As well as raising her own children, she ran a daycare in her home for many years. She was fondly called ??Ginger?? by the many children she cared for. In the small amount of spare time she had left, she enjoyed her flower garden, doing puzzles, and having and going to rummage sales. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday November 28, 2006 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center; 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville. Private Services will be held on Wednesday. Burial will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made in Virginia??s name to Holy Family Catholic Church 444 E. Main St. Danville, IL 61832.
