Virginia M. Ward, 83, of Lakeland, FL, passed away at 4:20pm on Wednesday, November 3rd, 2004, at The Waters of Covington, Covington, IN. She was born January 3rd, 1921, in Danville, IL to Absolom R. and Mabel G. (Hoover) Forker. On August 7th, 1937, she married David Ward. He preceded her in death on July 22nd, 1996. Survivors include: one daughter, Roberta Hall (fianc, Bill Simpson of Hindsboro, IL) of Lakeland, FL; one son, Donald (Evon) Ward of Lakeland, FL; one brother, Charles (Lorraine) Forker, Lakeland, FL; 3 grandchildren, Allan (Debbie) Hall, Georgetown, IL; Michelle Hall (Bobby Vascura) Danville, IL; Melinda Hall, Clermont, FL; 3 great-granddaughters, Clarissa, Baylea, and Callan Hall, Georgetown, IL; 3 sisters-in-law, Theresa Drzal, of Lombard, IL; Joyce Ward, of Glen Ellyn, IL, and Treva Andersen, of Muncie, IN and several nieces and nephews and her dog, MeMe. Her parents, her daughter, Davida, and granddaughter, Debbie Hall, also preceded her in death. She attended school in Danville and Catlin. She worked for FW Woolworth's, Danville Transfer and Storage, Kerner Electric, and retired in 1975 from Hysters Corporation. She was past member of the Second Church of Christ in Danville. After spending several winters in Florida, she retired to Lakeland in 1984. Her hobbies included collecting antiques and going to auctions, making porcelain dolls, teddy bears & jewelry. She began china painting while in Danville and continued after moving to Lakeland. She volunteered for the Red Cross in Danville, earning several service awards. Virginia was a member of the Governor Bradford chapter of the DAR, and was a past member of the Redbud Porcelain Artists group. She belonged to the Tropical Doll Study group and 2 china-painting clubs, Porcelain Artists of Lakeland and the Orange Blossom China Guild in Florida.
