Virginia May (Hoover) Schaeffhold, 79, of Danville, passed this Life at 2:15pm ET, on Sunday, February 21, 2010, at the Waters of Covington, in Covington IN. She was born on September 28, 1930, in State Line, IN, the daughter of John Charles and Ruth Alberta (Sackmire) Hoover. On September 27, 1948, Virginia married Mr. James Edward Schaeffhold. He preceded her in death in 1981. Virginia is survived by her two children, Mary Jo (the late Michael) Reik of Urbana, and Duane (Rose) Schaeffhold of Covington; IN. Her three grandchildren, Lori (Kyle) Kietzmann of St. Joe, Michael Wagle of Urbana, Barry (Marsha) Hooker of Bloomington, IL, and her three great-grandchildren, Zachary Kietzmann, Katie Kietzmann, and Garrett Hooker also survive her. In addition to her husband, Virginia is also preceded in death by her parents. Virginia attended Danville Grade School, and graduated from Danville High School in 1948. She worked at Noble Ford Auto Dealership, Sears Department Store, and volunteered at the former St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, later becoming a full time employee until her retirement. She was a member of the Vermilion County Extension. She enjoyed crafting projects, including, tatting, crocheting, embroidering, and many others. She also enjoyed square dancing with many of her friends. She will be missed by all that knew her. A Catholic Mass of Christian Burial for Virginia Schaeffhold will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at the Holy Family Catholic Church located at 444 E. Main St. in Danville with Father Ted Pracz to officiate. Entombment will take place at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery following the Mass. Calling hours for family and friends will be from 4-8pm on Wednesday, February 24, 2010, with a Public Rosary starting at 3:30pm at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center located at 3940 N.
