Virginia K. Pruitt

Virginia K. Pruitt, affectionately known as "Ma Vic," passed away on September 16, 2025, in Springfield, Illinois. She was born in New Castle, IN, on June 10, 1947, the daughter of Vernon “Jake” and Louise Gibbs.

Virginia's life was characterized by her caring and kind nature. She touched the hearts of many with her lovable personality, creating lasting relationships with friends and family alike. She was a devoted homemaker, finding immense joy in cooking and baking, also watching movies and being with family.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Larry Pruitt, children, Lisa, Anita, James, Penny, Tim, Suzette, and Susan, 16 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Jones, best friend, Lori Watkins, and several other nieces and nephews.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Regina, brother, Richard “Dicky” Gibbs, and sisters, Lucy Booth and Barbara “Bobby” Bidner.
