Virginia Nelson

Virginia Mae Nelson, 90, of Urbana, formerly of Danville, passed away at 4:15 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2005 at Champaign County Nursing Home in Urbana. Virginia was born on November 4, 1915 in Danville, the daughter of John P. and Myrtle K. (Carpenter) Royse. She married Dale C. Nelson on September 29, 1941 in Danville. He preceded her in death on September 18, 1984. She is survived by her two daughters- Sara Nelson of Champaign and Melinda Roth of Santa Barbara, CA; one sister- Jane Hosch of Danville; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister- June Freeman. Virginia graduated from Danville High School in 1931. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Danville Art League and was an accomplished amateur artist. She loved anything dealing with art. She was a member of the Central Christian Church. Virginia also enjoyed going on bus trips. Per the families wish Virginia will be cremated. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center is in charge of arrangements.
