Virginia M Coutu

Danville Virginia M. Coutu, 83, passed away at 10:45 am on September 21, 2019 at Pleasant Meadows Nursing Home in Chrisman, IL.

Virginia was born on February 6, 1936 in Danville, IL the daughter of Virgil and Clara B (Kester) Goble. She married George Coutu on May 5, 1964 in Lowell, MA and he preceded her in death on February 2, 2001.

Virginia is survived by her son; Ernest Jay Coutu, Jr., of Covington, IN, one daughter; Vicky Welge of Danville, IL and two step daughters; Patricia Ann (Norman) Bureau of Merrimack, New Hampshire and Jeanne Marie Coutu of Pepperell, MA, one sister; Wilma West of Chrisman, IL, four grandchildren; Christine Oliver, 1LT Grace Oliver, Benjamin Oliver, Ernest Coutu, Jr., six step grandchildren; Dennis Bureau, Steven Bureau, Shawn Coutu, Lisa Coutu, Deanna Coutu, and Keith Felix; two great grandchildren; Alleister Moll and Joshua Felix, as well as, several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, husband; George, four brothers; George, Robert, Paul and Harlan, three sisters; Wanda, Rosalie and Delores as well as one step son; George Coutu, Jr.

Virginia attended Holy Family Catholic Church and retired as a Dietary Aide from St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville in 1998. She was known for her softball talent while in school and enjoyed mushroom hunting, bowling, watching movies and spending time with her family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 27, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St., Danville, Illinois 61834 with Father Hoffman officiating. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 27, from 9:00 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Holy Family Catholic Church or Pleasant Meadows Nursing Home Activities Fund.
