Virginia L. Fritz 94 of Georgetown passed away Friday November 29, 2013 at 8:15 pm at the home of her daughter surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 5, 1919 in Fleming, County, ky, the daughter of William R. and Elizabeth Zorne Dice. Virginia was united in marriage to Charles C. Fritz in February of 1945, he preceded her on August 25, 1994. Those who will miss her are her children; Charles Fritz of Urbana, Carolyn (Harold) Collins of Maysville, Ky, Betty (Merl) Hixon of Chrisman, Nina Finchum (Corey Meeks) of Georgetown, Terri (Jack) Dunn of Georgetown, one sister; Anna Malapelli of Kentucky, also her grandchildren; John Michael Collins of Ky, Darlene (Mark) Welte of Ks, Virginia (Richard) Crouch of Ky, Tom (Crystal) Vire of Georgetown Charles (Kari) Vire of Georgetown, Kelly (Sue) Handy of Chrisman, Stewart (Jill) Finchum of Georgetown, Scott (Stacy) Finchum of Chester, Il, Robert (Monica) Dunn of New Albany, In, Jared (Windy) Fritz of Fairmount. Also 15 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Virginia was preceded by her parents, a son Donald Thompson, two brothers; William and JC Dice and a granddaughter Sandy Jo Dunn. Virginia worked as a waitress at Ridgeway Lanes in Ridge farm for several years, she and her husband had owned and operated Restaurants in Georgia, Tennessee and Indiana as well. She later worked in home health care service. During W.W. II she and her husband lived in Japan during his enlistment with the U.S. Army Airborne. Virginia enjoyed putting together and mastering Puzzels, sewing was a favorite pastime for her and she loved all kinds of flowers. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren all of her life. A celebration of life funeral service for Virginia L. Fritz will be at 1:00p.m. Tuesday December 3, 2013 at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home in Georgetown. Pastor James Blue will officiate. Visitation for family and friends will be two hours prior to the funeral on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Indianola.
