Covington, Ind. -- Virginia "Ginger" Hambright, 69, of Covington, passed away at 11:33 p.m. EDT Saturday, September 13, 2008 at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital in Williamsport, Indiana. She was born May 28, 1939 in Covington, Indiana, the daughter of the late Edward L. Barfell and Helen Smith Crowder. She married Thomas "Gene" Hambright on May 19, 1958 in Perrysville, Indiana. He survives. Other survivors include: two daughters, Terri(Pat)Meek of Covington, Indiana; Sharon Lee Hambright of Universal, Indiana; one son, Larry "Mike"(Jean)Hambright of Covington, Indiana; ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Angela K.(Lloyd)Chapman and Jane(Greg)Clawson both of Covington, Indiana; one brother, Larry(Linda)Barfell of Covington, Indiana; brother and sister in law, Melvin(Effie)Goodwin of Monticello, Kentucky; brother in law, Charles"Chuck"Hay of Covington, Indiana; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her step father, Harold Crowder; grandson, Tommy Mitchell; granddaughter, Terri M. Hambright; sister, Connie Jean Hay and two infant brothers. Ginger was a homemaker. She was a member of the Orchard Hills Church in Covington, Indiana. She was a 1958 graduate of Perrysville High School. Ginger enjoyed playing bingo, cooking and raising flowers. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family. Funeral services: 2 p.m. EDT Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Paul Kent and Paul Wilcoxen; Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery in Covington, Indiana; Visitation: Noon EDT Wednesday, September 17, 2008 until time of services at the funeral home.
