Virginia E. Mahoney

Cayuga, Ind. - Virginia E. Mahoney, 75, of Cayuga, passed away at 11:15 a.m. EST Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at her residence.

She was born January 15, 1944 in Waukegan, Illinois the daughter of the late Ruth (Odem) Cruz and Howard Irving Miller.

Virginia married Billy N. Mahoney on June 4, 1977. He preceded her in death on December 9, 2017.

Survivors include her children: Anthony (Rebecca) Buss; Elizabeth (Dan) Scott; Richard Strejc; Cindy (Bud) Acree; Terri (Tex) Sollars; Marsha Miller; Lucy Hardin; Billy J. Mahoney; Donny (Mary) Mahoney; Pam (Jesse) Reas; Cathey Pratt and Micheal (Kathi) Mahoney; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and one sister: Mary Ann (Doc) Thayer.

Virginia was preceded in death by her daughter: Brenda Leigh Strejc; two sons: James Gregory and Brian Keith Buss; great grandson: Briar Lee Pratt; one sister and two brothers.

Virginia formerly worked at Fire-X in Downers Grove, Illinois. She was a member of the Spirit of Life Church in Kingman, Indiana. She was a member of the HomeEc Club and enjoyed reading, baking, pottery, ceramics and crocheting.

Visitation: Tuesday, January 29, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. EST at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana. Cremation will be accorded following visitation. Condolences:
