Virginia Curtis

Virginia (Ginny) Curtis, 89, a lifetime resident of Danville, Illinois, passed away on January 14, 2016 in Tucson Arizona. Virginia was born in Milford, Illinois on June 11, 1926. She married Paul Curtis in 1947 and had three daughters. Her daughters, Linda Curtis of Tucson, Arizona, and Janine Curtis of Indianapolis, Indiana survive. She was preceded in death by her daughter Brenda, her husband Paul, her parents Noblitt and Alma Manning, and her siblings, Lula, Wilson, Lana, Ernest, Robert, and Evelyn. She was the proud grandmother of twelve grandchildren, including four granddaughters, Tracy, Stephanie, Andria and Alexis; six great grandchildren, Zachary, Gabrielle, Savannah, Garrett, Ethan and Isaac, and two great, great grandchildren, Kole and Piper. Virginia worked for General Electric for over thirty years, retiring in 1986. She made many friends at GE and attended all of their holiday events. Virginia was an avid gardener, a fabulous cook, and a wizard at card games, especially 500 Rummy and Euchre. She always had a beautiful smile and a kind word for everyone. Her greatest claim to fame was her award winning pies. She baked the best pies on earth, bar none. Sunday dinner at Virginia's house was the best treat of all. Her kind and generous heart will be missed by her family, and her cherished friends and neighbors in the Danville area. Her light will shine on forever. A celebration of life memorial visitation for Virginia will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, IL on April 2, 2016 from 1-4pm.
