Virginia Bailey

Virginia M. Bailey, 90, of Danville, passed away on February 6, 2015 at Hawthorne Inn Nursing Home in Danville. She was born on April 9, 1924 in Danville the daughter of, Bernard Bailey & Mildred Coffing. She was preceded in death by both parents and her brother, Robert C. Bailey. Virginia was such a special lady, that was so kind and loving to anyone she met. She was given the affectionate name Aunt Nee many years ago by her nephew Dave (who, as a toddler, couldnt say Virginia) and the name stuck. Virginia (Aunt Nee) will be deeply missed by her nephews, M. David Bailey, Robert “Tim” Bailey, and niece, Jeanne “Missy” Bailey (Dews), great-nephews David W. (Kim) Bailey, Stephen Bailey, Jacob Bailey, great nieces Amanda (Jonathan) McNiff, Christy Bailey, Tracy Howard, and Stephane Belcher, and several great-great nieces and nephews. She came to visit David W. Bailey in the hospital when he was an infant and very sick. Without any children of her own, from that moment on, David became like her own son. He would go and stay with her every weekend. After David grew up, her pride and joy became his daughters Allie and Jenna. She never missed one of their grandparents days at school or Birthday Parties. She would recognize the girls, even with her horrible Alzheimer's disease. A celebration of Virginias life will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville with Pastor Jim Blue officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Virginia will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville.
