Virgil W. Bailey

Danville Virgil W. Bailey, 84, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022 at his home in Danville, IL. He was born on July 12, 1938 in Danville, IL to Elmer and Jeanette (Dubre) Bailey.

Virgil is survived by his children Jeanette (Larry) Arnold and Jim Bailey; grandchildren Larry Arnold II, Brielle Arnold, Heaven Bailey, Hope Bailey, Glorie Bailey, and Grace Bailey; great-grandchildren Emma, Ramsay, Juniper, Emery, and Ialyn; sister Alice (Junior) Draper; and his beloved dog Toby. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Maggie Bailey; brothers John Bailey and Elmer Bailey Jr; and granddaughter Modisty K. Arnold.

Virgil served 6.5 years in the United States Army, he was a factory worker for 10 years, and a truck driver for 32 years. He loved fishing, racing, and spending time with his friends, family, and dog.

Visitation will be held from 9:30am-10:30am on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N Vermilion Street Danville, Illinois, 61834. Service will be held at 10:30am at the funeral home. Graveside committal with military honors will follow at Danville National Cemetery.
