Virgil L. Robinson, age 52, of Danville, formerly of Oxford, IN, died Sunday, July 27, 2008 at the VA Illiana Health Care System in Danville. He was born February 10, 1956 in Lafayette, IN. He was the son of Darold and Alice Robinson of Oxford, IN. He was a 1974 graduate of Benton Central High School, served in the United States Army and the United States Air Force. Virgil also graduated from Spartan College of Aeronautics & Technology in Tulsa, OK and received the degree of Associate of Applied Science Avionics Maintenance Technology. He worked in the field of avionics at Owensboro, Kentucky and Lafayette, IN. Survivors include his parents; a brother: Kenneth W. Robinson (wife: Deb) of Columbus, Ohio; a sister: Kay M. Schurr (husband: Glen) of Fowler, IN; and a brother: Donald E. Robinson of Streetsboro, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm EST on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at the VA Catholic Chapel in Danville, IL with Father Greg Nelson officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:00 pm EST on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at the VA Catholic Chapel. Burial will take place after the service at the Oxford Catholic Cemetery in Oxford, IN with Father Donald Gross officiating. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Danville are handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Benton County, IN American Cancer Society, VA Hospital in Danville, or the charity of the donors choice. The family of Virgil Robinson would like to thank all of the staff at the VA Illiana Health Care System in Danville for their help and support.
