Violet Ruth Dahl

Urbana- Violet Ruth Dahl 94, passed away on February 24, 2018 in Urbana IL Violet was born on September 12, 1923 in Dunkerton, IA. She was the daughter of Clarence and Hazel Holdiman. She was a graduate of St. Lukes Nursing School in Cedar Rapids, IA. Violet proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a Lieutenant during WWII, where she began her nursing career. Violet participated in the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight in 2012. She traveled to Washington D.C. to visit the National WWII Memorial. She is survived by her daughters; Maureen (Kenneth) Newman, Lisa (Brian) Mcclean, grandchildren; Chri stopher (Mariana) Newman, Sean McClean, and great-grandchildren; Kimberly and Jacob Newman. Violet is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years John Dahl and son in law Kenneth. Violet spent many wint ers in Florida where she enjoyed shelling at her favorite beach, Lover's Key in Bonita Springs.
