Violet D. Little

Violet Dorene Little, 84, of Danville, passed away at 11:58 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2008 at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home. Violet was born on September 13, 1923 in Clinton, Indiana, the daughter of William E. and Cora Pearl (Cox) Johnson. She married Irvin Walton Little on November 2, 1946 in Cayuga, Indiana. He preceded her in death on January 17, 1960. She is survived by one son- Tony (Connie) Little of Port Angeles, Washington; one daughter- Ginger (John) Corbin of Danville; one sister- Olive Holycross of Danville; five grandchildren- Audrey Little and Hannah Little both of Port Angeles, Washington, Adrion (Tiffany) Little of Sanford, North Carolina, Aaron (Jennie) Elliott of Arizona City, Arizona and Sarah (Tim) Wylde of Danville; three great-grandchildren- Tyler Little, Austin Elliott and Logan Elliott; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers- Claude Johnson, Lorey Johnson and Billy Johnson, four sisters- Ruth Johnson, Mary Labaw, Grace Bennett and Audrey Johnson. Violet graduated from Cayuga High School in 1942. During World War II she worked at Alcoa making parts for the war. She later worked in housekeeping at the Ramada Inn and Sheraton Inn in Danville. Violet was also a homemaker. She was a member of Second Church of Christ. Violet enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, babysitting and being with her family. A Celebration of the Life of Violet Dorene Little will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Drew Mentzer officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 " 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Thomas Cemetery in Newport, Indiana.
