Viola Alcorn Reffeitt, 86, of Olivet, IL, passed away at 2:58pm, December 18, 2008, at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village, Chrisman. She was born on June 30, 1922, the daughter of Ora and Nellie (Cox) Brown, both deceased. Survivors include: her daughters, Sharon (Gene) ODaffer of Seymour, IN, Katherine (Larry) Rodgers of Ridge Farm, IL, & Melody (Buddy) Dixon of Danville, IL; her step sons, Jack (Donna) Reffeitt of Lafayette, IN, & Bill (Helene) Reffeitt of Willow Springs, NC; her step-daughters, Dr. Joan (Ed) Engle of Danville, Phyllis (the late Gary) Rodgers of Danville, & Mary (Fred) Stubar of Champaign, IL; her forty-five grandchildren, as well as, several great grandchildren; her sisters, Jane Lovett of Catlin, Neoma Wright of Danville, & Ethel Pruitt of Danville. Vi was preceded in death by: her two daughters, Shirley Andrews & Jane Johnson; her son, Floyd Alcorn; her step-son, Jim Reffeitt; her step-daughter, Helen Taylor; her four brothers, Joe, Leslie, Henry, and her two sisters, Letha & Cora. Vi and Kenneth enjoyed camping, fishing, playing Euchre, and anything to do with nature, especially gardening & humming birds. Vi enjoyed crocheting in her spare time. Most of all, she enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her step children. A celebration of Violas life will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, December 20, 2008, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown. Pastor James Blue will officiate the service. Visitation will be held Noon to 2pm, Saturday prior to the service. She will be laid to rest in Oakridge Cemetery, Catlin. Memorial donations may be given to Pleasant Meadows Christian Village, Chrisman.
