Viola F. Lockwood, 97, of Danville passed away on Monday, October 8, 2007, at The Hawthorne Inn in Danville. Viola was born November 4, 1909 in Washington, IN daughter of Edward and Florence Brown Harris. She attended Washington Schools graduating in 1928. She was a member of Central Christian Church in Danville for a number of years. Viola married E. Wagner Lockwood on December 4, 1938 in Louisville, KY. He preceded her on April 6, 1988. Survivors include: a great niece Jacque Baker of Dallas, TX; two great nephews Bill (Beth) Harbert and daughter Amanda of Henderson, KY, and James Wagner Bunnett of Ft. Worth, TX.; a nephew Joe James of Herron, IL and Ronald Harris of Indianapolis, IN. She is also survived by Mariruth Webster of Chicago, Il and Gary Burkhart of Washington, IN and good friends Dr. Robert and Sue Ewbank. She was preceded by two sisters and two brothers. Viola and her husband Locky raised purebred Arabian horses at their small ranch known as Klippety Klop Ranch. They showed their horses during the 1960s gathering many blue ribbons. A Celebration of Violas Life will be held at the graveside at Sunset Memorial Park at 2:30 pm, Thursday, October 11, 2007. Visitation will be held from 1-2 pm Thursday afternoon at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville.
