Vicky Jo Milewski

Vicky Jo Milewski,75, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and cherished member of her community, passed away on March 13, 2026, in Mattoon, Illinois. Born on February 22, 1951, in Danville, Illinois, Vicky lived a life marked by kindness, dedication, and a deep commitment to those she loved.

A graduate of Bismark High School, Vicky embraced the roles of stay-at-home wife and mother with grace and unwavering support. She helped run the family business, Photography by John, contributing to its success with equal parts diligence and warmth. Known for her generous spirit, she always put others before herself, embodying a selflessness that touched many lives.

Vicky's passions extended beyond her family and career; she found joy in sewing, gardening, and crafts, activities that spoke to her creative spirit and patient nature. She also treasured the time spent traveling alongside her husband John, sharing in the adventure and companionship that defined their relationship.

She is survived by her daughter Jodi Anderson and her husband Jason, her loving son Daniel "DJ" Meeker Jr. and his wife Mary, as well as grandchildren John Scott Milewski II, Paige Milewski, Kylie Milewski, Levi Milewski, Jaden Anderson, Lexi Anderson, and JW Anderson. Vicky Jo also leaves behind great-grandchildren Alexandra Milewski, Elena Stewart, Colton Wigley, and Grayson Wigley, whose lives she enriched profoundly.

Vicky was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Dorothy (Britton) Thomas Sr., her beloved husband John Milewski, her son John Scott Milewski I, and her siblings Shirley Meeker and Jack Thomas Jr.

A visitation to honor Vicky's memory will be held on March 18, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, located at 414 S State St, Westville, Illinois 61883. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 6:30 PM. Pastor Jamey Cohoon will officiate. Burial will be at Danville National Cemetery at a later date.
