Vernon Krause

Vernon D. Krause, age 64, of Danville, passed away at 2:14 am on Friday, February 13, 2009 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. He was born December 23, 1944 in Elmhurst, IL the son of Michael and Lorene (Meyer) Krause. He married Theresa Comrie on September 27, 1980 in Huntley, IL. She survives. Vernon is also survived by three sons: Eric S. Krause of Woodstock, IL, Brandon J. (Leslie) Krause of Danville, Brodie W. (Carrie) Krause of Rossville, IL; two daughters: Mary Beth Krause of Cape Corral, FL, Rebekah N. York of Danville; one brother: William (Karen) Krause of Glendale Heights, IL; four sisters: Marilyn Hayward of Keeneyville, IL, Barbara (Jack) Poss of Montgomery, IL, Judith Jorden of Oakman, AL, Karla (Harry) Van Cott of Streamwood, IL; eight grandchildren: Bailey and Austin York, Taylor, Karli, and Kyle Krause, Hayden, Lexie, and Lilly Krause; a mother-in-law: Betty Comrie; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, two sisters, and his father-in-law: Peter Comrie Sr. Vernon served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1969. After serving his country, he worked as a plumber with Union Local #501 until his retirement. Vernon was a member of the American Legion Post #210 in Danville. He loved to cook and watch drag racing. He was a diehard Bears fan! What Vernon loved most of all was spending time with his family and friends. A celebration of life service for Vernon Krause will be held at 10 am Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville with Pastor Earl Eells officiating. Burial with full military honors will be held at Danville National Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Monday, February 16, 2009 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial donations be made to either the American Heart Association or Gift of Hope.
