Vernon Earl Johnson

Vernon Earl Johnson, 84, of Danville passed away on Thursday October 2, 2014 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville, IL. Vernon was born the son of Charles and Viloa Mae Johnson on November 18, 1929. He married Frances Landers on February 17, 1960 in New Hampshire she survives. Also surviving is one daughter Brenda Payne, ten grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren, also many nieces and nephews. Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and four brothers. Vernon was a Sergeant Major in The United States Army when he retired after thirty years of service. Vernon was known for being honest, hard working and a loyal man. Frances loved Vernon very much and he will be deeply missed by her and his family. A celebration of Vernons life will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville at 11:00 am, on Wednesday October 8th, 2014, with Pastor Tiffany Black officiating.
