Vernon C. Hix Jr.

Vernon C. Hix Jr. "J.R", 80, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville. He was born on March 20, 1940 the son of Thelma (Summers) and Vernon C. Hix Sr. in Danville, IL. They precede him death.

Also preceding Vernon in death are three sisters, Betty, Jean, Nancy; and three brothers, Victor, William "Bill," and Bob.

Vernon leaves behind his loving wife, Linda Kay Hix; two sons, Mark Vernon Hix and Richard Wayne Hix; grandchildren, Tenaya Hix, Christin Cline, Haley Macy, and Chelsey Starwalt; great grandchildren, Jayden Kuhns, Carson Kuhns, Ayvuh Hix, and Clayton Cline; as well as two brothers, Gary (Kathy) Hix and Rick (Marilyn) Hix; and sister, Susan Hix.

Vernon enjoyed being outdoors, riding his bike, and loved taking pictures. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be missed dearly by his family and all that knew him.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Officiating will be pastor James Blue. Burial will be in Stearns Cemetery in Fithian, IL. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
