Vernon 'Bake' Peterson

Cayuga, Ind. - Vernon "Bake" Peterson, 85, of Cayuga, passed away at 6:15 a.m. EDT Friday, March 23, 2018 at his residence.

He was born February 26, 1933 in Cayuga, Indiana the son of the late Ivy and Gladys (Ditto) Peterson.

He married Norma Jean Myers on December 2, 1950 in Cayuga, Indiana. She survives.

Other survivors include his children: Vernon (Theresa) Peterson, Jr. of Cayuga, Indiana; Johnny (Marsha) Peterson of Cayuga, Indiana; Donna (Billy Donn) Robertson of Newport, Indiana and Sondra (Rusty) Chapman-Dugger of Cayuga, Indiana; ten grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Dickerson of Danville, Illinois, and one brother, Raymond Peterson of Eugene, Indiana.

Vernon was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.

Vernon retired from General Motors Tilton Foundry in 1993. He enjoyed fishing, watching football, and attending his grandchildren's many sports activities.
