Vern M. Cook Vern Monroe Cook, 73, of Danville passed away at 2:55 am on February 2, 2008 at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home in Danville. Vern was born on July 21, 1934, the son of Forrest and Ida Cook. Vern graduated from Danville High School and then served his country by enlisting in the United States Air Force. He later married Artina York on March 24, 1964. Survivors include Sons Charles Hagan and Kenny Cook, Daughters Terri (Grover) Armstrong, Susie Hagan, and Charlene Berkeley, Brother Glen (Cheryl) Cook, Grandchildren Charles Lee Guy Hagan Jr., Scotty Hagan, and Chad Michael Hagan, and several Great-Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews. Vern was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Vern was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He loved sports, but most of all, taking care of his beloved wife. A celebration of Verns life will take place at Sunsets Community and Life Tribute Center (Formerly Lakeside-Barrick), located at 3550 N. Vermilion St. in Danville, on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at 11:00 am with visitation beginning an hour prior at 10:00 am. Cindy Zunwalt will be officiating.
