Verl Rasor

Verl L. Rasor, 71, of Gifford passed away Saturday afternoon (March 1, 2025) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. He was born July 1, 1953, in Champaign, a son of Russell and Lorine (Bergman) Rasor. He is survived by a son, Mark L. Rasor of Gibson City; a daughter, Catina D. Emery of Gibson City; a brother, Kevin J. (Juri) Rasor of Rantoul; a sister, Cheryl (Lydon) Getty of Gifford; three grandchildren, Erica Valleroy, Tyler Bruns and Austan Arnold; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. Verl was a 1971 graduate of Rantoul Township High School. He worked at the Dillsburg Elevator for many years and the Farmers Ag Service in Gifford for many more. He also helped on the family farm all his life. He loved fishing, hunting and anything outdoors. He spent many wonderful hours woodworking. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lux Memorial Chapel, 1551 E. Grove Ave., Rantoul. Pastor Brandon Tipsword will officiate.  Burial will follow in Eden Park Cemetery, Rantoul. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at Lux Memorial Chapel.
