Vergean M. Hayse, 87, of Danville, but, currently was living in Wellsville, KS with her daughter, passed away on August 8, 2009 at Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, Missouri. Vergean was born May 12, 1922 in Clinton County, Michigan daughter of Nelson F. and Phlena (David) Dexter. She married Kenneth L. Hayse on August 1, 1944 in Eagle, MI. He preceded her in death in the summer of 1999. Survivors include four children: David (Marcia) Hayse of Kansas City, MO; Lynn (Donna) Hayse of Tucson, AZ; Bruce (Carolyn) Hayse of Tallahassee, FL; and Wilma (Frank) Postlewait of Wellsville, KS; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend Eleanor Rome of Danville. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and sons Ronald and Kenneth. Vergean dedicated to her church and church family, being a member of the First Church of the Nazarene for many years. She had worked at Kresege, Woolworths, Stuarts, and retired as church secretary from St. Pauls Church of the Nazarene in Richmond, Indiana. She enjoyed sewing & crocheting. A Celebration of Vergeans Life will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, August 13, 2009 at The First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Dave Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Wednesday evening at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville.
