Vera Moody

CATLIN - Vera E. (Rice) Moody, 74, of Catlin, passed away at 4:00pm on Monday January 31st, 2005, at HRC Manor Care in Champaign. She was born on April 20th, 1930, in Danville, the daughter of Albert and Lyndall (Gallagher) Rice. Both parents precede Vera in death. Vera was a 1948 graduate of Catlin High School. After her youth she was united in married to the late David L. Moody on June 3rd, 1951, in which they had three children. Surviving children are on son, Paul (Julie) Moody of Springfield, IL, and two daughters, Donna (Van) Lawver of Danville, and Rita (Jesse) Fletcher of Wisconsin. Vera's grandchildren will deeply miss her and they include; Jill Moody of Arizona, Valerie (Adam) Winnland of Georgetown, Eric (Cathy) Zimmer of Danville, and Van Lawver the II of Danville, as well as, her two great-grandchildren, Kirsten Lawver and Gage Zimmer. Her husband and her infant brother Charles Albert precede her in death. In her employments years she was employed with the former Lakeview Medical Hospital for 25 years and also with the Hysters factory out of Danville as a secretary for 35 years retiring in 2001. In her spare time, Vera enjoyed playing the organ, working in her flower garden, especially with her roses, feeding and watching birds and spending time with her family.
