Vera L. Weaver

Catlin Vera L. Weaver, 88, of Catlin, passed away at 9:00 AM on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Hawthorne Inn of Danville. She was born September 10, 1935 in East Lynn, IL to John and Mary (Hoshauer) Kelley. She married Edward L. "Tiny" Weaver who preceded her in death on April 9, 2001.

She is survived by a son, Bob (Lorri) Weaver of Danville; three grandchildren, Kathleen Orcutt, Kaylea (Alex Pritchard) Weaver, and Dane Weaver; five great-grandchildren, Leland Shields, Dailynne Orcutt, Lyla Orcutt, Havana Pritchard, and Kenneth Pritchard; and a sister, Joanna (John) Swick.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Ron Weaver.

Vera was a Registered Nurse and had worked at several different nursing homes and locations throughout her career. She was a member of the Golden K Kiwanis Club for over 20 years and had received the George F. Hixson Fellowship Award. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching sports of all kinds, especially Cardinals and Cubs baseball and the U of I basketball team. She also liked playing dominoes as well as card games like Uno and Euchre. She and her husband Ed loved spending the winters in their home in Bradenton, FL.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Vera Weaver will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61834. Burial will follow at Danville National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:30-11:30 AM prior to the service on Wednesday, also at Sunset in Danville.
