Vera L Roe

Vera L. Roe, 90, of Danville, passed away at 12:55am, Monday, July 22, 2013, at The Waters of Covington. She was born on May 26, 1923, the daughter of William and Maggie Zena Acord, both deceased. She was first married to James Morgan, but later was wed to Robert J. Roe until his passing. Vera, who was lovingly known as Butterball', worked at Continental Filling in Danville for 30 years until her retirement. She enjoyed going bowling, playing Bingo & Bunco, as well as, going dancing, especially when she could dance the Jitterbug'. She was always there for her children and had a passion to help them throughout their lives. Those who will miss Vera include: her sons, Bill (Kathy) Morgan of Danville & Terry Roe of Evansville, IN; her daughters, Teresa (Tom) Kendrick of Perrysville, IN, & Marcia Pankow of Danville; her grandchildren, Vickie Hughes, Steve Hughes, Bill Morgan, Robbie Roe, Chris Roe, Brian Kendrick, & Katrinia White; her 16 great grandchildren; and her three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her granddaughter, Sabrina Morgan; two brothers; and one sister. A celebration of Vera's life will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Pastor James Blue officiating. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation will be Noon-2pm on Thursday before her service. Memorial donations may be given in her name to: The Waters of Covington Activity Fund.
