Danville - Velda Joslin, 85, of Tipton, IN formerly of Danville, passed away on April 13, 2014. She was born December 6, 1928 in Utica, KY. The daughter of Gilmore and Cora Hicks Walters. She is survived by her sons, Leonard (Barbara) Winchester, Jim (Judy) Winchester, David (Fonda) Winchester, and Richard (Terri) Winchester; her daughters, Martha (Everett) Davis and Diane (Thomas) Collom; her step-children Janice (Mark) Miller and Michael Joslin; her sister, Ruth Tuttle; she is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Clayton Joslin, her parents, and her sisters Thelma and Wilma. Velda was a very active person; not only did she raise six children but she also held jobs at Tee-Pak, G.E., and St. Elizabeth Hospital. She also enjoyed making things, she was very good at quilting and crocheting. Velda also enjoyed cooking meals for people; it has been said that she has the greatest potato salad recipe this world has ever seen. She also enjoyed spending time in her garden or in the house reading a book. Above all else, Velda loved her family; she will be sorely missed by anyone who was fortunate enough to have known her. A celebration of Veldas life will be held at 2pm on Thursday April 17, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. A visitation will be held on Thursday April 17, 2014 from 1pm to 2pm at the funeral home.
