Valerie Meeker

Valerie "Vi" Meeker, 96, of Danville, passed away on Wednesday January 19, 2022 at Hawthorne Inn in Danville. Vi was born on April 24, 1925 in Danville the daughter of Wesley and Maggie (Ewing) Yarger. She married the love of her life Walter Meeker Sr. on September 6, 1942 in Danville. He preceded her in death.

Vi leaves behind one son Walter "Butch" (Shirley) Meeker, three grandchildren; Kelly Meeker, Ron Weddle and Wendy Weddle, four great grandchildren; Barbie Wright, Justin (Alisha) Cox, Kelsey (Drew) Roberts Boring and Zach (Karyn) Weddle, four great great grandchildren; Ava Cox, Paislee Boring, Jackson and Decklan Weddle.

Vi was preceded in death by her parents, husband,a grandson Wally Meeker, siblings, nieces and nephews.

Vi loved going every weekend in the nice weather to Kentucky Lake fishing. She enjoyed reading her bible, doing word searches most of all she loved to spend time with her family.

A celebration of Vis life will be at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center Westville, 414 S State St. Westville, IL 61883 on Thursday January 27, 2022 at 11 am with Pastor Dave Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday January 26, 2022 from 4-7 pm.
