Val was born in Kearney, Nebraska, daughter of Shirley (Noe) and Virgil Loewenstein.

The family moved to Illinois when Val was 12. She attended school in Danville.

Val was a mother to two boys, Buddy Pryor (Sherry) and Shawn Loewenstein.

Val was preceded in death by her parents and 5 siblings.

She is survived by her sons and 3 siblings, John Loewenstein, Lynette Morris, Jan Hines, several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Val’s work in life was serving others at the Sweetheart Restaurant, Lincoln Lanes, Subway, Green Chevrolet, Courtesy Ford, her last job before retiring was providing help at home for clients by cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping or driving them to medical appointments, which most often included a stop for lunch and ice cream.

Val loved to go to plays or watch her nieces play volleyball and softball. She was a regular customer at Cahill’s, Charlotte’s, and Culver’s. Val enjoyed a simple life, dinner with a friend, ice cream with anyone, or wrapped in her purple blanket to watch the Golden Girls or John Wayne. Roses and butterflies always warmed her heart with a smile.

Val will be cremated and then placed with her dad at Sunset Memorial Park.

A Memorial service is planned for family and close friends.
