Trixie L. Myers, 86, of Fithian, IL, our beloved mother, passed away on July 30, 2025 at Carle Foundation Hospital at 3:07 AM.
Trixie was born on May 9, 1939 in West Frankfort, IL, the daughter of Elmer Wayne and Ida Madeline (Hembrey) Bean. She married Merle Myers on May 31, 1956 in Muncie, and he preceded her in death on May 27, 1996.
Trixie dedicated 41 years of her life to her career as a beautician before she finally retired. She was a member of Muncie Baptist Church. Her biggest joy was her large family gatherings, where she would prepare every dessert imaginable. She always made sure each loved one left with a special dessert she had set aside just for them—a sweet piece of her love.
She found peace and happiness in mowing her yard, camping, and fishing. But most of all, she cherished time with her grandchildren, playing endless games and showering them with treats and laughter.
Trixie is survived by her children, Penny (Jeff) Sands of Oakwood, IL, Judy (Tom) Rundquist of Peoria, IL, Allen (Jolene) Myers of Danville, IL, Brian (Marsha) Myers of Fithian, IL, and Brenda (Greg) Adolph of Oakwood, IL; grandchildren, Jacinda (Greg) Miller, Jolina (Andy) Powell, Cory (Jessica) Sands, Shawn (Sadie) Sands, Jaret (Holly) Sands, Justin (Cassie) Cox, Chasity (Phil) Myers, Kali (Tyler) Myers, Ted Rundquist, Dexter (Mary) Rundquist, and Kelli (Jarrod) Wrigley; great-grandchildren, Landon Nixon, Bryson Myers, Lexi Stitt, Brooklyn Myers, Kayden Myers, Lane Stitt, Willow Myers, Tristan Sands, Cohen Sands, Brenley Sands, Kimber Sands, Kacee Sands, Bennett Sands, Sadie Jo Sands, Maylin Sands, Zoey Wrigley, Riley Wingard, Garrett Miller, Gavin Miller, Maren Powell, Liam Powell, Faith Kinney, Bodie Ray, Pacen Cox, Sloan Rundquist, Hank Rundquist, Mya Rundquist, and Finn Wrigley; one great-great-grandchild on the way; and her sister, Georgia Strange of Danville, IL.
Trixie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Merle Myers, brothers Elmer Bean and James Bean, infant sister Mary Edith Bean, and half-brother Gary Bean.
She was known for her legendary Texas Sheet Cake and her love of storytelling around the campfire. Her humor, warmth, and generosity touched everyone she met.
