Tracy Allen Green

Tracy Allen Green, 51 of Georgetown passed away Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016 at Presence USMC, Danville. He was born Oct. 12, 1964 in Danville to Norman D, and Linda (Hansbrough) Green. On October 2, not only did this angel get his wings, but he walked into Heaven. To many, he was known as "Lean Mean Green". His tough grit defined his entire life. He has fought and overcome many obstacles throughout his life and was a force to be reckoned with. But that nickname was misleading. Tracy did not know a stranger and was a very giving and generous man who loved his friends and family more than anything, especially his father Norman and his son Shane. Tracy was an avid animal lover who gave much love to many pets throughout his life. Tracy attended Danville High School and Georgetown High School. Tracy was a millwright by trade. He belonged to Carpenter's Local # 243. He had a passion for hill climbing as a young man and was able to share that passion with his son for many years. This lead to Tracy sponsoring "Green Professional Hillclimbing Team". He loved hot rodding with his dad, Norman who was his best friend. Tracy had a community of family and friends in both his hometown and the hill climbing world and will be dearly missed by all. Tracy was ornery, always the joker and loved to make people laugh. He worked hard, he played hard, he lived and loved hard. Tracy is survived by: his father, Norman (Melissa) Green of Westville; his son, Shane Allen Green of Georgetown; his granddaughter, Adalynn Shane Green; step-sister, Kim Green of Danville; step-brother, Ian James Dukes of Georgetown; and his maternal grandmother, Ollie (Hansbrough) Hoskins of Georgetown. He is also survived by: uncles, James (Bev) Green, Bill (Lanice) Green, Allen (Annette) Hoskins, Terry Hoskins, all of Georgetown, Glenn (Pat) Green of Danville, Bobby Ray (Tammy) Neal of Catlin; his aunts, Mary Ellen Doud and Sherry Hicks, both of Danville, Elizabeth White of Cayuga, IN, and Robin (Doug) Thoma of Georgetown; many cousins; and several friends. Tracy was preceded in death by: his mother, Linda (Green) Williams; step-sister, Elicia Forbes; his paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Virginia Green; and maternal grandfather, Bob Hoskins. In lieu of flowers you may donate to the Vermilion County Handicapped Association or The Miss Piggy Fund at Georgetown-Ridge Farm School District.
