Toula S. Vrentas

Toula S. Vrentas, 84, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018. She was born the daughter of the late Spiros and Evanthia (ne Gintonis) Vrentas on March 12, 1934 in Danville, IL. Toula taught elementary school in the Danville School District for more than 40 years after her graduation from Illinois State (Normal) University. She enjoyed travel, reading, baking, crafts, and flowers. She was a member of Three Hierarchs Greek Orthodox Church in Champaign and St. Barbara's Chapel in Danville and a member of Old Towne Preservation. Toula is survived by her brother James (Christine) Vrentas, nieces Cathy and Jenny Vrentas, cousins: Ellen (Jerry) Walker and children Stephanie (James) Spiros and Jeremy (Rene) Walker; George (Jane) Vrentas and children Elizabeth Small and Michael (Heather) Vrentas; and Steve Vrentas; as well as Evan and Alex Spiros, Jacob and Katie Walker, Graham and Cole Small, and Miles and Thea Vrentas. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Officiating will be Father Michael Condos. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Three Hierarchs Greek Orthodox Church, St. Barbara's Chapel, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
