Tony Ray Ervin

Hoopeston, Ill. -- Tony Ray Ervin, 49, of Hoopeston, passed away at 11:36 p.m. CST Thursday, November 5, 2009 at the V.A. Illiana Health Care System in Danville, Illinois. He was born March 4, 1960 in Watseka, Illinois the son of Donald Lee and Joyce Hickerson Ervin. Survivors include: two sons, Matthew Ervin of Rossville, Illinois and Justin Westin of Georgetown, Illinois; his mother, Joyce Ervin of Hoopeston, Illinois; one sister, Regina Ervin of Hoopeston, Illinois; two brothers, Eric Ervin and Donald Ervin, Jr. both of Hoopeston, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Lee Ervin. Tony was a veteran of the United States Army serving his tour of duty in Germany. He was a 1978 graduate of Hoopeston High School. He enjoyed fishing and watching the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. Graveside services and burial of cremains will be held at 2 p.m. CST Thursday, November 12, 2009 at the Danville National Cemetery in Danville, Illinois with military honors by the Danville V.F.W. Post # 728. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana in charge of arrangements.
