Danville - Tony Michael Jack, 71, of Danville, IL passed away at 1:36 pm on July 8, 2017 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville, IL. Tony was born on March 8, 1946 the son of John Chester and Roberta (Latshaw) Jack in Danville, IL. He married Nancy Jo Moreland on July 24, 1970 in Danville, IL and she survives. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Jack of Danville, IL, two sons, Brent Jack of Indianapolis, IN, and Aaron (Velvet) Jack of Danville, IL, two daughters, Tiffany (Jared) Myrick of Oakwood, IL and Kristine (Mike Cross) Jack of Austin, TX, three brothers, John (Jim Kennedy) Jack of Orlando, FL, Norman (Beverly) Spires of Danville, IL and Bruce Spires of Covington, IN, two sisters, Carolyn (Warren) Rasberry of Oakwood, IL and Paula (Chuck) Wright of Danville, IL, five grandchildren, Chase, Rylee, Benjamin, Kaylee and Aleeah, as well as one niece, Jennifer Rasberry of Catlin, IL and one nephew. Jerry (Susan) Rasberry of Indianapolis, IN. Tony is preceded in death by his parents. Tony was a member of the Illiana Off-Roaders 4x4 Jeep Club, Westville Sportsmans Club, and the Fairmount Fishing Club. He served his country in the United States Army Reserve for six years. Tony worked as an Electrician his entire life, starting with Virgil Flick, then Berkley Davis and lastly Jorgenson Electric from where he retired. Tony's family could call on him for help with anything. After he retired, he was often seen mowing not only his yard but neighbors as well. Tony was proud of all his kids and was #1 babysitter with the grandkids and never missed their activities or events. For many years Tony and his family were involved in the Illiana Off Roaders Jeep Club. Tony's "handle" was "Applejack" on the CB radio and he was often referred to as "Mr. Clean" for his ability to crawl out of a mud hole cleaner than most would enter. He loved his 1977 CJ5 and would keep it spotless when not on the trails. Early on Tony spent many good times hunting and fishing with his brother-in-law, Warren, who later became best friends. Tony was still fishing and having lunch with Warren at Henk's Caf. Tony dearly loved his sister, Carolyn, and would often tell stories about how they fought as kids. Gone to soon, we will all miss him dearly and will never forget his many talents, knowledge and selfless nature. We will love you always. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N Vermilion Street Danville, IL. Miles Clark will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the funeral home.
